After 12 years of neglect by the previous Liberal Government, there will now be a 40km/h school zone for students at St Patrick’s Marist College, Dundas.

We have also secured funding for new curb ramps on Kissing Point Road and an upgrade to traffic lights at the Kirby Street intersection to provide better protection for pedestrians. 

Thank you to everyone in the St Patrick’s Marist College community and across the local area who fought alongside me to improve safety on Kissing Point Road - we could not have done this without you.

• To help keep children travelling to and from St Patrick’s Marist College safer, a number of changes will be made including the extension of the current 40 km/h school zone length and an extension of the current 60km/h speed limit zone.
  
  

• Signage and road markings on Kissing Point Road, Kirby Street and Sturt Street will be changed to extend the 60km/h speed limit zone between 172 Kissing Point Road and 220 Kissing Point Road.
  
  

• The 40 km/h school zone area will also be extended to include a section of Kissing Point Road as well as Kissing Point Road approaches from Kirby Street and Sturt Street.
  
  

• The school zone will operate between 8am and 9.30am, and between 2.30pm and 4pm on normal school days.
  
  

• There will be temporary traffic changes to make sure the work zone is safe and traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists and pedestrians. 

These changes will significantly increase pedestrian safety in the area, making it safer for kids to get to school
