Parramatta Youth Alliance
The Parramatta Youth Alliance (PYA) is an opportunity for Year 10 students attending secondary school in the Parramatta Electorate to speak up and get involved in community and government policymaking.
The PYA met on a quarterly or as needed basis to discuss issues facing youth in Parramatta.
The Alliance is designed to empower young people, amplify their voices, and strengthen youth engagement in shaping both local and state policies.
In 2025, the inaugural meeting brought together Year 10 students from schools across the Parramatta Electorate, including:
· Arthur Phillip High School
· Catherine McAuley Westmead
· Macarthur Girls High School
· Maronite College of the Holy Family
· Our Lady of Mercy College
· Parramatta High School
· Parramatta Marist High
· St Patrick’s Marist College
Students discussed the issues that matter most to them – from education and mental health to employment, housing, climate action, and community safety.
This year, the 2025 students will be handing over to the elected students of 2026 to continue the journey of the Parramatta Youth Alliance.
