ERMINGTON WEST PUBLIC SCHOOL UPGRADE AND NEW PUBLIC PRESCHOOL
Project overview
The Minns Labor Government is upgrading Ermington West Public School to renew existing school assets and provide additional support and preschool spaces.
The upgrade will include:
- 3 new support learning classrooms
- new administration facilities
- upgrade the existing hall to include Out of School Hours (OOSH) and storage
- upgrade the existing classrooms
- a new amenities block.
As part of the Minns Labor Government’s commitment to deliver expanded access to early childhood education, this school upgrade will also include a new public preschool for 40 children.
Public exhibition of the planning documents for the upgraded school and new public preschool closed on 21 September 2026. The REF and submissions are now being assessed.
Students will continue to learn from Buildings E and F during Term 4. The library will also remain closed while it is refurbished. This will include new carpets, paint, a reconfigured office area and all new furniture ready for Day 1 Term 1 2027.
We are hoping to begin refurbishing the school amenities block at the end of Term 4 and during the December/January school holidays. Students will use existing toilets at the school while the upgrade is underway. We will work with the school and share arrangements with parents and staff once they are confirmed.
